These exquisite dishes are inspired by the ancient Roman craftspeople who skilfully melted glass shards into beautiful dish forms. Each dish is meticulously crafted from fused glass shards, slumped over a mould to achieve its unique shape. The base of each dish is turned on a lathe from naturally wind-felled timbers, providing a sturdy and elegant support for the glass. Within the base, a hollow space is designed to hold a keepsake, adding a personal touch to each piece. The timber bases are carefully sanded, stained with the artist's own pigments, and polished to a highly refined finish, making these dishes not only functional but also a stunning piece of art.
