This sculpture of Emerald Swifts was created by the artist as his first attempt to visualise in three dimensions his oil painting called 'Swift Children Overcoming Barriers To Their Learning'. Tim Jago Morris used seven kilograms of glass casting crystal in the colours Emerald, Copper Blue and Citrine together with lathe turned and carved Cherry Wood, pigmented Danish Oils and Treasure Gold Gilding Wax. Tim uses simplified representations of the birds swifts in this artworks to symbolise children playing. He makes comparisons in his artworks to children's development, though studies made on paper of these swifts representing their playful and acrobatic flight with abstract colour combinations. This sculpture is solar powered. Size H 58.5cm x W 30cm x D 30cm. Weight 23kg
